Storm and impact monitoring network

Collecting and capitalizing on information on extreme events

Impact monitoring

The monitoring network of storms and their impacts aims to collect and capitalize information on marine storms in order to obtain quantitative data necessary for the validation of numerical models, but also for the purpose of memory and awareness of these meteorological-marine phenomena.

Past events will be analysed to define their extent and the damage caused, but the network’s main objective is to coordinate the various observers in the Caribbean territories in order to pool the collection of information that is currently dissimilar.

Extension of the network

Initially, partners and associated organisations will be mobilised before each event and capitalisation tools will be developed. Subsequently, this monitoring network may be extended to a wider public (participatory science).
