Interreg is a European program aimed at promoting cooperation between European regions and the development of common solutions in the fields of urban, rural and coastal development, economic development and environmental management.
This objective is divided into three components
- cross-border cooperation (integrated regional development between border regions), which brings together the Interreg A programs
- transnational cooperation (creation of large groups of European regions), which brings together the Interreg B programs
- interregional cooperation (exchange of information and sharing of experiences), which brings together the Interreg C programs, as well as the Urbact, Interact and Orate programs
Interreg programs are managed by the European Commission with regional policy Inforegio
